Salma Hayek Graces the Cover of Latina Magazine

Salma Hayek , 45 year old Latina Beauty, graces the November issue of Latina Magazine in an amazing Alexander McQueen dress. She talks to Latina Magazine about her newest animated film, "Puss in Boots" which hits theaters today (October 28), becoming a wife, mother, her career and its future, and her skincare line.

“To be your own woman, you have to question who you really are and what it is you really want – and you have to have a level of acceptance of what you can do. The things I expected of myself when I was 20 did not happen, or did not happen the way I imagined they would, and it’s okay.  Let’s just take this one day at a time and do the best that I can and be grateful for the things I do have." says Hayek.

Halloween for Fashionistas

With Halloween around the corner, you may be wondering what you can possibly go as. If you're a fashionista, you don't want to look cheesy or too boring. Halloween is a great way to show off that crazy vintage mink you can only wear when you're invited to a gala (which rarely happens anymore since events seem to be getting more casual by the minute!), that veil you have on your dresse that shows you were a '40's fashionista in another lifetime, or those colorful super high heels you bought and love but can't really find an outfit for... Here are a few ideas to get you inspired...

Go Classic : Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, PanAM Flight attendant, Mad Men...

Holly Golightly - Breakfast At Tiffanys Adult Costumeyou can buy the costume or do this yourself. All you need is a LBD, long black gloves, a chunky pearl necklace, a tiara with your hair in a french twist, and a long faux cigarette. To make it more fun, add some cat eyed shades!

MarilynI personally like the "material girl" costume. You can wear a pink dress with the gloves, even add a fur and lots of bling accessories!

If you have a white halter dress, and a natural blonde bob, you're all set! Just add the red lipstick ;)

If you or maybe your mom doesn't already own a blue suit, try thrifting.  Blue suit, wings type brooch for your hat and blazer, little white gloves (or even short leather ones), simple pumps, nude hoisery, and def a Pan Am bag to add detail!

Betty Draper or Joan Halloway? This is too easy! And fun! If you're mad for vintage like I am, I'm sure you've got a pencil skirt and a silk blouse in your closet or one of Betty's swinging '60's style dresses with a full skirt. Or try sites like Modcloth.com for good retro apparel. Add some mary janes or black pumps and don't forget the red lipstick and winged eye liner ;)

Fashionista Humor: Anna Wintour, Rachel Zoe

bob wig, big black shades, and a fur coat! Viola!

Oversized shades, flared jeans, a faux fur vest, super high heels or platforms, baggy top- carry a baby to cathch attention!

Pop Star Style : Lady Gaga, Madonna, MJ, Cher, Katty Perry, Tina Turner

there are many more looks Madonna has besides this one but this is a simple one- wide leg pants and a corset top you can add two big cone shaped cups to and cover with gold or a pearl white color. Try her '80's look, "material girl", "like a virgin," and others.

Lady Gaga Black & Silver Sequin Dress AdultLady Gaga has just as many or more looks than Madonna so there's plenty to pick from. They key is to accessorize, be creative from your make up to your shoes and have major Gaga attitude. You can buy the costume or DIY. From rolling soda cans in your hair to sticking a donzen clear balloons to your body!

MJ anyone? Not just for the guys anymore. But unless you're willing to spend $200, you may want to make your own. My idea: black skinny jeans cuffed up with shiny penny loafers or heels, basic loose white tee, and a leather motor cycle jacket. Don't forget the curly wet hair in a pony tail, black fedora, shades, and the famous glove!

6 Easy Steps to Looking 10 lbs Lighter During the Fall

by Stephanie Coloma

I had my baby boy 15 months ago and still trying to loose the baby weight. I know too much time, right?  I wasn't thin before I got pregnant, but I can still stand to lose a few more pounds. Losing the baby weight is not easy and if you stay at home, it only gets harder.

At first, I made a few mistakes in choosing the right wardrobe for my post baby body. With what I know now, I would like to share some tips that I’ve learned from friends, even magazines along the way. And trust me, it works!

#1: Hide those chichos (rolls) and use Shapewear!: I bought them all! From the ones you see on TV to Victoria’s Secret brands. Buy the ones that you feel more comfortable in, that will let you do your daily activities, such as work, cook, play with the kids. etc. (I’ve hear d that if you use one every day even when you are sleeping it helps you loose weight) Try to buy natural colors, strapless and full coverage body shapers. Be careful when you buy them online, there are some body shapers that will make you look skinny in the waist and heavier in your upper torso. Most of the stores will let you try them on.

Find this body shaper at fajasonline.com for $69.99 (On sale)

$69.99 fajasonline.com

# 2 V-Neck Tops: Shop for  V-Neck or scoop neck tops. I’ve learned these shirts will help you break up the chest area and make your top appear smaller. V-neck shirts also look best if you have a short neck and need to lengthen out your torso.

Old Navy V-neck top below $26.94 (Vertical lines will make you look thiner)

$26.94 Old Navy

# 3 The Right Denim: I love skinny jeans, however, according to Alexis Zipp, a fashion stylist, the fit is too tight and will low rise, highlight hips and thighs. Instead, wear flare jeans that will give you the opposite look.

Flare Jeans : GAP from $64.00

$69.95 Gap

# 4 Longer Jackets: Use a long jacket or cardigan that goes past your hips. It will help you to lengthen your silhouette and emphasize your waist. Try to opt -out bulky jackets and knitted cardigans patterns, they will create a heavy look.

Jacket : Guess $174

$178 Guess

# 5 Skinny Belt: Thin belts will slim your waist!

Skinny Belt on sale at Guess $14.95

$14.95 Guess

# 6 Wear those Heels: No more flat shoes! Heels or wedges are a must for looking lean.

Suede Wedge Heels : Steve Madden  for $99.00

Steve Madden $99.00

Follow these tips and you will see how much lighter you will look! Remember to be yourself, look cute, be comfortable, but above all be a: Mommy Fashionista!

Nail it!

by Stefanie Savino

A huge nail trend this fall is nail art! Gone are the days of just one polish color on your digits. This fall we are seeing gorgeous polish colors in plums, forest greens, maroon and metallic. But now you can enhance those colors with nail polish shatter polishes. My personal favorite brand is OPI Nail Shatter. You can choose from a variety of colors such as black, white, red, teal and pink! Simply paint one to two coats of polish, dry for a few minutes, and then apply the shatter nail and you will get a super cool crackle like effect on your nail. My favorite color combinations are black & white and silver and white. Shatter polish is perfect to spice up your nails for Halloween too!

Another fun nail accessory that is growing this fall season is applying decals to your manicure. You can use a variety of items such as Nail Glitter, crystals, sequins, and even flowers! You can get really creative with this trend! Sephora makes this trend super easy to apply at home with their Nail Embellishment Stickers. They have a variety of stickers from butterfly holograms, crystal bands, metallic flowers and more! And for $5 each set you can try them all!

Nail designs and prints are HUGE this season. From animal prints, polka dots, stripes, and swirls the list goes on and on. There are many different ways to express yourself, mood, and creativity with nail polish and nail art! Embrace this trend and add some glitz and glamour to your manicures and pedicures this season!
