With Halloween around the corner, you may be wondering what you can possibly go as. If you're a fashionista, you don't want to look cheesy or too boring. Halloween is a great way to show off that crazy vintage mink you can only wear when you're invited to a gala (which rarely happens anymore since events seem to be getting more casual by the minute!), that veil you have on your dresse that shows you were a '40's fashionista in another lifetime, or those colorful super high heels you bought and love but can't really find an outfit for... Here are a few ideas to get you inspired...
Go Classic : Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, PanAM Flight attendant, Mad Men...
you can buy the costume or do this yourself. All you need is a LBD, long black gloves, a chunky pearl necklace, a tiara with your hair in a french twist, and a long faux cigarette. To make it more fun, add some cat eyed shades!

I personally like the "material girl" costume. You can wear a pink dress with the gloves, even add a fur and lots of bling accessories!
If you have a white halter dress, and a natural blonde bob, you're all set! Just add the red lipstick ;)
If you or maybe your mom doesn't already own a blue suit, try thrifting. Blue suit, wings type brooch for your hat and blazer, little white gloves (or even short leather ones), simple pumps, nude hoisery, and def a Pan Am bag to add detail!
Betty Draper or Joan Halloway? This is too easy! And fun! If you're mad for vintage like I am, I'm sure you've got a pencil skirt and a silk blouse in your closet or one of Betty's swinging '60's style dresses with a full skirt. Or try sites like Modcloth.com for good retro apparel. Add some mary janes or black pumps and don't forget the red lipstick and winged eye liner ;)
Fashionista Humor: Anna Wintour, Rachel Zoe
bob wig, big black shades, and a fur coat! Viola!
Oversized shades, flared jeans, a faux fur vest, super high heels or platforms, baggy top- carry a baby to cathch attention!
Pop Star Style : Lady Gaga, Madonna, MJ, Cher, Katty Perry, Tina Turner
there are many more looks Madonna has besides this one but this is a simple one- wide leg pants and a corset top you can add two big cone shaped cups to and cover with gold or a pearl white color. Try her '80's look, "material girl", "like a virgin," and others.
Lady Gaga has just as many or more looks than Madonna so there's plenty to pick from. They key is to accessorize, be creative from your make up to your shoes and have major Gaga attitude. You can buy the costume or DIY. From rolling soda cans in your hair to sticking a donzen clear balloons to your body!
MJ anyone? Not just for the guys anymore. But unless you're willing to spend $200, you may want to make your own. My idea: black skinny jeans cuffed up with shiny penny loafers or heels, basic loose white tee, and a leather motor cycle jacket. Don't forget the curly wet hair in a pony tail, black fedora, shades, and the famous glove!
